Somerset County Indoor Bowls Association

Promoting and organizing indoor bowls competitions and leagues across Somerset.

Welcome to Somerset County Indoor Bowls

Welcome to the Somerset County Indoor Bowls Association, the governing body for indoor bowls across Somerset. We coordinate county matches, organize competitions, manage leagues, and support clubs and players throughout the region.

On this site you will find comprehensive information about county fixtures, competition draws, league tables, team sheets, and club contacts. Whether you are a player, supporter, or simply interested in indoor bowls, you will find everything you need to stay informed about bowls in Somerset.

County Matches and Fixtures

The Association runs county matches throughout the season, with fixtures for the County team, Patrons team, and Under 25s squad. Team sheets are published in advance of each match, and results are posted following completion.

Guests attending county matches who require a meal or wish to travel on away match coaches should contact the County Match Secretary at least seven days prior to the match to ensure arrangements can be made.

Competitions and Leagues

We organize a full programme of county competitions open to eligible players, with draws and results published as the season progresses. The Association also manages county leagues, with fixtures, results, and league tables updated regularly throughout the season.

Competition and league rules are available for all participants to ensure fair play and clear understanding of formats and eligibility requirements. A new Over 60s competition has been introduced as part of the Liberty Trophy programme.

Youth and Under 25s Bowling

The Association is committed to developing youth bowling in Somerset. We run an Under 25s team that competes in fixtures throughout the season, providing young players with the opportunity to represent their county and develop their skills.

Information about Under 25s fixtures, news, and team sheets can be found on the dedicated youth bowling pages. We encourage clubs to support and promote youth participation in indoor bowls.

County Officers and Patrons Association

The Association is managed by a team of dedicated officers and supported by our Vice Presidents. Contact details for all officers are available, including the County Match Secretary, Competition Secretary, and other key roles.

The Patrons Association plays an important supporting role, with its own fixture programme running alongside county matches. Patrons fixtures and team information are published separately.
